Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Environment Artist to join our team in creating immersive and visually stunning 3D environments for games. The ideal candidate has over 7 years of industry experience and a strong portfolio showcasing both stylized and realistic environments. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, modeling, texturing, and optimizing high-quality assets including architecture, terrain, vegetation, props, vehicles, and weapons.
Key Responsibilities
- Create high-quality stylized & realistic 3D environments, including vehicles, weapons, architecture, terrain, vegetation, and props.
- Strong focus and attention to detail across various art styles.
- Design, model, and texture realistic or stylized 3D environments including architecture, terrain, vegetation, and props.
- Collaborate with level designers to build environments that support gameplay and narrative goals.
- Maintain a consistent art style and high level of quality across all assets.
- Optimize environments for performance while maintaining visual fidelity.
- Mentor and provide feedback to junior artists.
- Work closely with lighting, VFX, and technical teams to ensure environments feel cohesive and immersive.
- Troubleshoot and problem-solve artistic and technical challenges.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience as an Environment Artist in the gaming industry.
- Strong portfolio showcasing a range of environments. (realistic or stylized depending on the studio’s style)
- Proficient in industry-standard tools such as Maya, Blender, ZBrush, Substance Painter/Designer, and Photoshop.
- Strong knowledge of modern game engines. (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity)
- Excellent understanding of form, shape, structure, and silhouette in environment design.
- Strong knowledge of PBR workflows and optimization techniques.
- Experience working within a cross-disciplinary team.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with procedural tools like Houdini or World Machine.
- Familiarity with scripting or blueprinting in game engines.
- Background in architectural visualization or level design.
